Antique Sheraton Style Mahogany Marble Top Washstand
This Antique Sheraton Style Mahogany Marble Top Washstand, circa 1900, would certainly make the perfect addition to just about any room in the home or office. Constructed out of mahogany, the washstand has delicate decorative burled front panels with satinwood inlay, and is from the Edwardian era and in the Sheraton style, a style named for the London furniture designer, author and teacher, Thomas Sheraton (1751-1806). In keeping with this style the washstand has simple but strong and well-proportioned designs. Its stately backsplash has the original beveled mirror and original marble insert that attach to the original marble top. The cupboard below has the original brass hardware and opens to reveal ample storage space. The cupboard front doors include satinwood inlay and a beautiful burled mahogany oval shape pattern that blends quite effortlessly with the contrasting marble. The washstand rests on satinwood inlay slender tapered legs that are quite elegant and add just the right finishing touch. The Antique Sheraton Style Mahogany Marble Top Washstand measures, 54.75 inches H X 48.50 inches W X 27.25 inches D, and is in the original finish with appropriate wear for its age. Please note, there is missing molding on the top right corner of the backsplash that can be viewed in the photos below. Also the vanity comes apart in three pieces to move.
