Artist Nelson Grofe, envisions a lovely almost animated version of happy Yuletides past: snow covered streets, thatched roofed cottages and colorfully attired traveling troubadours serenading 'neath the windowsills of the township. Grofe uses bright shading to contrast with the snow-capped rooftop and illuminates it to perfection with the glowing streetlamps, a hushed blue shading is used in the background to suggest twilight.
