Elegantly Lavish 1911 Vintage Belle Epoque Ad- Distinguished Ladies and Gents prefer the Gentle Glide of Baker Electric Motorcars. Absolutely Beautiful Rare Original Vintage Belle Epoque Ad taken from the pages of a 1911 issue of Life Magazine. Sublimely Wonderful Ad done for the Baker Electric Motorcar company is done with all the graceful dignity of the Belle Epoque Era and carries with it the unhurried pace and lavish brilliance of the era. Done in an unusual color palette of lime and pale tinted rose, the image features a trio of gorgeously arrayed women and one beriboned diplomat arriving in the sublimely stylish new Baker. A duo of women are attired in long-trained cloaks and marabou trimmed wraps with just the tip of a well-shod foot seen as it descends the dashing running board. Note that the ensembles are intricate in design are brightly tinted- evidently influenced by the infamous Ballet Russe. The shade of pale pink suggests twilight and lends the iamge a certain lush beauty which is only enhanced by the bright lime of the background. Ad has a signature which is practically indecipherable and is a gorgeous example of the undeniable sophistication and charm of this by-gone era! Undated about early 1911- measures 10 x 13- some edgewear where it was removed from a bound volume. Will be fantastic on display!
