A unique silverplated tea set dating from ca 1869. It is in the then popular Egyptian Revival motif. The set consists of 5 pieces, Large tea or coffee pot, smaller tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl with lid and a waste vessel. Each piece is on small feet in the shape of a pharoahs head, there are incised lotus blossoms and the finials on the handles are sphinx heads. In very good condition, with no excess wear of the silver, but there are 2 small dings, one on each of the teapots. A exciting period set made by Simpson Hall Miller & Co of Connecticut.
