This delicate pair of earrings features oval mixed-cut blue sapphires in buttercup settings dangling from old mine cut diamonds bezel-set in platinum. The sapphires have the light, slighly grayish, violetish-blue color (vB3/2) often associated with the Montana sapphires popular at the turn of the century. Both sapphires are eye-clean and are well-cut with fine brilliance. The diamonds are G color, SI2 clarity. Tested and guaranteed 14K and platinum. Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent. Size: 5/8” long (excluding ear wires). Weight: 1.9 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, .28 ct; sapphire, 1.27 cts.
