This Pennsylvania made wood box or hall bench is all original and in amazing condition.  Notice that the tall back is hand dovetailed to the sweeping sides of the bench.  The bench uses mortised and pegged construction throughout.  The double lift lids provide perfect hidden storage for wood, boots, etc.  The interior of the boxes show little use and no abuse.  The front and sides of the boxes have recessed panels.  The bench rests on arched cut out feet.  The wood box is made of poplar and was originally stained dark and finished to resemble walnut wood.  This desirable, original finish is in excellent condition, having a wonderful patina.  What a great piece of Pennsylvania, American furnishing.
