Staebel Antiques in Houston, Texas offers this early, large size machinist toolbox possibly made about 1910. This early classic design box has a removable front door which is removed when the top is opened. Spring loaded pins hold everything in place when the lid is closed. The box measures 23 1/2 inches long, by 16 inches high and 13 1/2 inches deep. The top lid opens to reveal a large top tray that is 12 1/2 by 22 inches. Under this tray are 6 solid maple drawers...4 half size drawers and 2 full size drawers. The exterior of the box is made from yellow poplar and the front and drawers are made from maple. This box is very solid and weighs in at nearly 50 pounds. The box has been refinished and refurbished inside and out. A new pin lock has been installed .
