This Dolphin candle stick or lamp base was made by The United States Glass Corp. of Pittsburgh PA circa 1922 to 1928. It was originally produced at Factory O (one of the Glassport plants). But they had some productions problems and the manufacture was transferred to the Tiffin, Ohio plant. The original pattern number is unknown at this time. The difference between the candlestick and the lamp base is the lip on the candle cup, where a fixture would be attached to hold the light bulb. It can still be used as a candle stick. It is 8-1/4 inches tall and the round base is 3-3/4 inches in diameter. The bases usually have a wave pattern on the underside or can be plane, or like this one, have a scale pattern. The glass is crystal clear. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks. Shipping includes insurance. (BRNCRT-XXX2)
