This is a beautiful original New England Glass Works flint glass Whale Oil Lamp. This lamp was made during in the Early American Pattern Glass period circa 1840‘s to the 1860‘s. The pattern is the pressed wasted loop with a hexagonal base. The lamp is made in one piece using a 3 part mold. Boston and Sandwich made this pattern using a wafer to attached the base to the font. The flint glass lamp stands 9 inches tall with the foot diameter of 3-5/8 inches. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but the lamp is in excellent condition with no chips, flakes or cracks.
