E. C. Atkins Scraper Ram's Horn

Unavailable

This is a nice quality, 12.0" long unique ram's horn shaped wood finish scraper in very nice condition. It's marked " E.C. ATKINS & CO. SILVER STEEL" on the 3.5" wide blade, and " INDIANAPOLIS IND."on the cast steel blade holder. The blade is in nice condition overall with some minor staining or darkening of the steel finish, plenty of stock left for future re-sharpening. The hardwood is very nice, with a nice finish, some minor small scrapes and scratches, one small hole noted on one of the wood plugs where the thread screws are inserted to hold the blade in place. All the hardware is in very good working order, good threads, and nickel plated wing nuts. There is a rubber like insert between the cutter and the flat face that the cutter presses against. The insert was made by the original owner to give the blade a concave radius shape, he felt cause the scraper to cut better for his application. Although it is glued on, we feel that you could remove it is you wish, without much trouble. A hard to find unique style scraper!
