DUTCH SILVER & COBALT OPEN SALT

Unavailable
Silver on Copper very interesting and unusual Cobalt Glass Open Salt Cellar. This piece is marked with what appears to look like "A.M." in a diamond and "M.I.I." in a diamond along with mark that I cannot read. It appears to be Dutch in origin and I woiuld date it to late 19TH to Early 20TH Century. This silver boat sgaped salt stands on four legs. It has a Cathedral Arch openwork pattern around the sides. It has a ill fitting cobalt glass liner that works but apparently is not original. This very interesting and unusual salt is 2 1/4" tall and 3 7/8" long.Condition is average. T are a few small edge chips to the liner that could probably be polished out. T is some wear to the plate but no breaks, scratches or bends.
