This is an interesting double caliper type tool that has the firm joint in the center. The tool moved freely but the joint is made in such a way that it is tight or will hold position once it's set in a certain position. The tool is unique as it has two tabs that extend 1/8" 90 degrees to the tool on one end. The tool measures 4.5" long overall x 1.75" wide fully closed.
This tool is made of steel and may have been designed as an assembly tool of some sort.
