Disston & Sons Adjustable Saw Set Pliers Triumph 7 inch
This is a nice clean late 1800's patented saw set pliers marked "H. DISSTON & SONS U.S.A. PAT. OCT.13.1899" on one handle, and "TRIUMPH" on the underside of the other handle. Triumph was a Disston & Sons brand name or logo name. It has a patented split slide or plunger (the moving slide that set the tooth of the saw is double action, the lower part puts presure on the flat part of the blade, and the top part sets or bends the tooth), the top part being controlled by the top handle, the lower be the lower handle. The slide with that set the tooth is about 3/16" wide at the point of contact. The amount of set is adjustable, (4 different setting to choose from), as is the gauge guide (this guide will rest on the top of the teeth for equal setting on each tooth. All the adjustments are in working order. This one is in good+ condition, very little wear, no rust, no damage. This one measures 7" long. A very nicely designed, fairly rare model, by a quality tool maker!
