DinoDung or Coprolite-Approx 35 Million Years Old - Mounted on Descriptive Backing

Unavailable

DinoDung or Coprolite is fossilized feces. Coprolites are important in helping learn about diets, feading behavior, and habitat of prehistoric animals. When polished coprolite often reveals a multitude of beautiful colors. It is very difficult and usually impossibl to determine which animal produced the coprolite. Experts use logical deduction by looking at the site and determine which types of skeletons are found, their size, and number found.

This coprolite most likely came from a turtle or other small reptile and it was found in Montana.

This item is mounted on a descriptive backing that is cut to fit a standard 5"x7" frame.

Coprolite is a great conversation piece.

Included with this display is a polished coprolite fragment that was dropped by a much larger reptile - possibly a brontosaurus. This bonus item measures approximately 1". The original dropping  this fragment came from measured approximately 14" in diameter and about 4" tall.
