The crossbow was the most efficient warfare tool until the English longbowmen defeated Geonoese crossbows at Crecy. This rare iron crossbolt was excavated in Germany and dates from the 14th century. It is rusty but in excellent condition and it measures approximately 3 1/4" long. The bolt is mounted on a framable 5" x 7" descriptive backing.
