Description:
Here is a fine and unusual early 19th century double tambour Hepplewhite secretary. The top section has two tambour slides revealing an interior of three drawers and nine compartments. The bottom has a fold over writing surface section, pull out slides, two side by side drawers and two serpentine front tambour slides. The legs, drawer fronts and slides all have string inlay. It measures 45”h x 38”w x 20” deep. It generally overall it is in very good condition. The surface patina is rich and lustrous brown mahogany. The tambour slide on the top and bottom as you probably know is quiet rare. This is a fabulous piece – very elegant and handsome.
