This is an impressive set of Shakespeare's works with footnotes and forenotes on each play! Each volume is bound in embossed brown leather with gilt lettering and decoration on the spine and front board. There are numerous full page steel engravings. These books are in very good condition. Charles Knight was the father of the paperback edition of Shakespeare and a socialist who believed that reading Shakespeare would assist the lower illiterate classes toward literacy!
