Description:
This is a vintage stork standing watch over a wicked woven bow decorated baby basket. It is a very nice figural pottery planter from the 1940's. I cannot attribute it to a certain pottery but lean toward Shawnee or Brush McCoy as the feet are underneath are unglazed which are part of their trademarks, it is marked on the back or the runners but unreadable. However it could be Royal Copley, Morton, Haeger too. This planter is " high 5 1/2" wide. The painting iis beautiful and it is a very detailed piece. On the back botton or the runner at the very corner (see Pic. # 4) there is a small chip, however part of it has glaze in it so? may have come that way from the pottery. I could not get a good Pic. of the mark as it is cream colored on cream color. I have priced this to reflect the chip. Ther are no other chips, cracks, nicks on this piece.
