Description:
Dating to around 1890 / 1900, late Victorian or Edwardian, we have a very handsome desk set in solid mahogany. The top has some exquisite inlay, alternated Boxwood (touched in hot sand to giving that shading to the edges) and Harewood, which is green stained Sycamore. T is a carved trough to the front which acts as a pen tray or rest. The circular glass inkwell has a star cut base, solid brass collar and hinge (in full working order) solid inlaid mahogany lid and sits neatly into a circular cut-out lined in the original velvet. The entire stand sits on it's original carved bun feet. Excellent condition, measuring 7" in diameter and 4" tall to top of the inkwell lid. Worldwide insured airmail included.
