Alexandra was born in 1951 in New York City, New York. She first studied Fine Arts at California Institute of the Arts and holds Bachelor and Master of Art Education degrees from Prescott College. She studied portraiture with Daniel Greene at his studio in New York. She was a high school art teacher in Gold Beach, Oregon and currently teaches workshops through Southwestern Oregon Community College. Her paintings are sold at Gold Beach Books and Picture This! Photography in Gold Beach.

Her current focus on Alla Prima portraiture evolved from attending a weekly gathering of artists throughout those years to draw from live models. Since 1996, her series of paintings of women who have survived breast cancer have been incorporated into advertisements for the local hospital on the back of the local telephone book.

In the late 1970's, Eyer operated a small graphic design and silkscreen printing business. From 1995 through 2001 she organized a summer art camp for children. After receiving multiple art degrees, she was an art teacher at an Oregon high school for five years until 2002, when she turned her attention to painting full time.

Eyer paints in pencil, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastels. Her work may be viewed at Gold Beach Books and Picture This! Photography in Gold Beach, Oregon. [Source: ]
