Description:
Hand-made in the late thirties or early 40's this windmill made of wood has a definite folk art look. It is 28 inches long and is 18 inches high. It is made of all wood except for the mechanism that runs the "saw" that the figure is using. The wind turns the saw and the figure "saws wood". It is a clever original design and the entire windmill is painted in old colors of red, blue, and gray. The "schnitzelbach" holding the saw is a design of saw holder familiar to people of German heritage. The windmill works and certainly this is a unique and one of a kind piece of folk art.
