WILLIAM BROMLEY
Bromley was a London painter of genre, historical scenes and an engraver. The grandson of William Bromley, the engraver, he exhibited at Suffolk Street (187 works), the British Institution and the Royal Academy 1844-1870. He painted scenes of domestic genre and rustic scenes in the style of the Cranbrook Colony of painters, using soft brown tones and muted colourings to create, capturing the essence of the atmosphere.
