Description: A disc made of Whitby Jet (polished coal) bearing the British coat of arms - disc measures 3.25cm or 1.1/4 inches diameter and 1cm thick (7/16 inch). This might have been set in a seal, or a brooch, or maybe even part of a mayoral regalia. The rear shows some signs of having been stuck to something. The face of the disc (the cost of arms area) is in good condition. There are some old chips and shavings to the edge of the disc , and a gouge out on the edge of the side, not visible from the face. An interesting piece - would date from the 19th century.
