Description: Circa: 1900 Dimensions: 49" wide x 19" deep x 71" high Stock Number: E0908-0166 This is a gorgeous, English Victorian Gothic Welsh Dresser. We purchased it in Oxfordshire, England. It is made of Oak, and has a rich, medium oak patina. It is in very good condition. The Welsh Dresser has a striking, High Gallery at the back. The Gallery has a Molded Cornice with a beautifully carved Frieze below. The Frieze has a charming Band of Rosettes flowing across it. The Back of the Gallery is beautifully paneled. There are Two Plate Rails. They have a groove carved into them so that you can display your collection of China securely. The Central Rail has a Display Case at either end. These have Astragal Glazed Doors. The Diamond Shaped Glass Panes are leaded in stained glass fashion. Your fine collectibles can be displayed here. The Gallery has an unusual Wavy Shape flowing down the sides and into the Supports at the top of the base. The base of the piece is composed of Two Drawers over Two Doors. The Drawers are carved with Gothic Arch Rosettes. The Drawers open to reveal spacious interiors and are made with finely crafted, Dovetail Joints. The Arched Doors below have Rosettes carved into their corners. A Horizontal Rail flows across them. The Vertical Molding which flows down each side is carved with Fluting. This piece has all of its original Victorian Hardware. This includes the ornate Gothic Hinges and Ring Pulls. The Welsh Dresser is supported upon Stile Feet.
