Description:
Here we a have a rare piece of Weller pottery. It is their Coppertone line done in the 1920s and into the 1930s. This bowl features a 3 dimensional frog sitting on the edge with a removable flower frog in the center. The Coppertone glaze is describes as having "the color of old bronze showing irregularly through a verdant green matt." This wonderful piece of pottery just came out of an estate along with a Weller Hudson piece I will be listing too. This 2 piece set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a slight sticky residue under the center frog where someone put a thin strip to keep the frog from slipping around and there is a very slight water line inside. I have not tried to clean either one of these off since I found out how rare the piece is I decide that should be left to the buyer. Please e-mail any questions.
