Description:
Offering this nice clean antique kitchen shelf clock w/key in good working order. It measures 15.5" wide at the base x 23.5" high. The oak case is in really nice shape overall, a few minor discoloration spots, but overall nice shape, no damage or cracks, good sturdy construction, nice finish. The glass in the hinged door is design painted, also in good shape, very little wear. The door has good hinges and closure latch in very good working order. The dial face has some wear, some missing white color, but the numbers are easy to read even from a distance, appears to be original, and is marked Welch just above the 12. We have run this clock for several weeks, and it keeps good time. The time section and the hourly mechanical chime are separate wind springs. We don't wind the chime as we prefer not to have the noise. We did test it once, it does work and chime, but I am not familiar with how to adjust it to the correct hourly amount, and it seemed to stick in the chime mode longer than it should have. I suppose a clock repairman could adjust it if you wish, but I will leave that to you. The brass pendulum is in good shape, some tarnish on it, but nice ornate design. This clock is fairly quiet when the time mechanics are running, but does make enough sound to where you can hear it when in the same room. We note the carving designs are quite nice, but not overly ornate, and made of good quality oak, with nice grain. A nice looking clock overall!
