Description:
This is a very pretty blue jasper or jasperware heart shaped jewelry or trinket lidded box made by Wedgwood, England in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II of England. The commemorative box features an applied white jasper 3 dimensional bas relief profile of Queen Elizabeth II in a dedication wreath and flower rosettes of applied white jasper. The box measures 2 inches high by 5 inches long by 4 inches wide. The box is in very good +++ with no chips or cracks, but there is a tiny drop of what looks like paint by the right hand rosette. I don't know what it is and haven't tried to remove it. It certainly doesn't detract from the beauty and historical value of the box. A great piece of British royal memorablilia.
