Excellent condition We are pleased to offer this beautiful buffalo bone necklace from India with a carved elephant pendant.
This necklace weighs approximately 24.3 grams, and it measures about 24” long. The necklace features pieces of water buffalo bone measuring about 13.7mm by 13.4mm interspaced with bone beads measuring between about 5.2mm and 5.5mm in size, and there is an expertly crafted carved pendant with an Indian elephant that measures about 1 ¼” by 2 1/8”. Our jeweler tells us that the piece comes from India.
The clasp is two pieces of bone that screw into each other. They are barrel shaped when together. This necklace is a lot like ivory in its ecru beauty and the craftsmanship evident in the design. The outside of the pendant is decorated with tiny holes that give it a feminine lacy look.
