Description: Ceremonial Sioux carved stone war club with 13 inch beaded handle. Stone head is carved into the shape of a big horn sheep which would have been the Audubon sheep that once roamed the Dakota prairie but is not extinct. The Audubon sheep, like the buffalo ws highly revered by the Sioux and is often portrayed in their early craft work. In addition to being carved, the stone head is also painted. A nice old piece.
