Wallace Silversmiths were originally founded by Robert Wallace, the scion of enterprising Scottish immigrants, in an old gristmill making spoons under the name R. WALLACE & CO.
The company continued, prospered, and continued to operate, under various owners in Wallingford, Connecticut until 1986. Meriden and its neighboring town of Wallingford were famed for being the home to the finest New England silversmiths for centuries.
