Description:
Chronographs are all the rage, and they can be quite pricey, but here you can get Breitling's second line the Wakmann for a lot less, and the quality is just a good as many others for twice the price. This Wakmann is in excellent condition and running like the day it was made. It winds, sets, and excellent time in all positions. The pushers operate smoothly and precisly. The white-on-black dial has its original finish and displays a tachymeter scale around the outer perimeter of the dial. The white hour and minute hand look great against the black dial which is made quite striking by the white subsidiary dials at the 3 (for constant seconds)and the 9 (for accumulated minutes). Now add the bright orange sweep second hand and the two orange sub dial hands and you've got a real winner. The stainless steel case measuring 45mm lug to lug, by 37mm in diameter, is in great condition showing the stainless, Swiss, incabloc, and water resistant markings in a circle which surround a ship at full sail. Take a look at the photos of this killer 17 jewel movement...it is as clean as a whistle! The stainless steel band is an after market with a deployment clasp and is like new.
