Description:
Absolutely charming original Vintage Vicotrian Scrap Print circa 1888. Large sized chromolith print done on heavy stock type paper depicts a vivid country lakeside setting complete with fishing boats on calm placid waters, mountain scenery and a darling couple beneath the trees observing it all.
This item is in only good minus to fair condition-showing definite signs of having been removed from a scrap album some small closed tears here and there but a lovely image anyhow! Measures 12 x 16 wonderful subject matter a romantic rendezvous in an perfect autumnal setting. I am dating this to about 1888 could be a little earlier judging by the colors used and the tight basque skirt with bustle of the innocent young miss. Back page also contains a pasted-in image of a romantic guitar player- which would also date it to the latter portion of the nineteenth century. High Victorian popular art at it's most delightful!
