Vintage Valentine Art Nouveau Era Postcard, 1910. Absolutely charming Original Embossed Design on this radiant, enchantingly whimiscal postcard. Cream colored abckground trimmed in forthy white lace, sky blu ribbon with lace heart trimmed in gilt and blue flowers contains a sweet came-like head in the center with a butterfly alighting at the side of the heart. The butterfly was a frequesnt feature of the era it's natural beauty and ebullient charm leant a grace and delightful note to all manner of imagery. Butterfly is odne in gorgeous shades of peach, pink, red flame orange and gilt trimmed wings, the body is done in a birght shade of apricot- it is perfectly enhaced and illuminated bu the coolor and embossed texture of the card- the words To My Valentine are done in scarlet letters just above. This is a fine example of the beauty and artistry of the Art Nouveau period- the condition is good overall bright sharp and crisp no fading or wear anyplace on the surface of the back or the front. This scan darkens the shade of the background a bit- it is a pretty creamy slightly yellow shade in person. Divided back with small penned inscription- part of the Butterfly Series-dated 1910 on the back. A fun and darling idea for oyur sweetheart of Valentine's Day or a unique addition to any collection.

I offer USPS and also Ups depending upon buyers choice. Most items that measure under 12 x16 can fit easily into a priority flat rate box for around $10.00 contingent upon weight.
