Artist: Florentino di Fausto
A poster of Rhodes published by the Italian travel department – which, given the history of the island of Rhodes, makes this a historically significant poster: the – now – greek island of rhodos was taken by italy in 1912 when it belonged to turkey, and given (back) to greece in 1947. The poster dates from after 1922, as the logos of the Italian tourism agency seem to date from the fascist era.
This poster shows some signs of age, with damage evident in the margins, although mostly not affecting the image.
