Description: An 18K yellow gold brooch in an early Paloma Picasso design for Tiffany & Co. The pin depicts a bird—probably a dove—with its head turned toward the back and nestled into its own feathers in a resting position. This design shows how Picasso utilized the simplest of gently curving lines and unadorned gold surfaces to create strikingly graphic jewelry. The back is signed by Picasso and is also marked “©1981 Tiffany & Co. 18K”. Origin: America, ca. 1981. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1-3/4” x 13/16”. Weight: 10.5 grams.
