I am dating this double coiled snake ring to 1915-1930.

Without damage or repair except for the softening of the edges consistent with the ring having been worn for many years.

Part of the snake has been hand chased - particularly around the opal of the head. The opal itself flashes the translucent green and blue so characteristic of the "jelly" opal. And, because the opal is deeply bezel set, the stone is protected from the damage normally associated with wearing an opal ring.

Note that the ring is marked "sterling" rather than 925. This is another indication of the age of the ring.

And because there is no decoration at the back of the ring, the ring may easily be sized.
