Description:
For sale is a vintage wood spice cabinet with 18 glass spice jars. It might have been a rack for miniature plates, (it has a plate rail on the shelves), but looks cute as a spice rack. It has been refurbished because it was in missing the drawer pulls and one drawer, and the paint was almost gone. Repainted in a 'seafoam' color, and added the jars & a drawer & pulls. You can repaint to match your kitchen. The cute glass jars are also vintage; 'Goodwood, Julie Pomerantz, Inc. 5th Ave., N.Y., had old price tags on each of 19c. Labels are grungy, you can replace them. Jars are in good condition and are 4 inches tall. Some have sifters inside. The rack is 24 tall x 13.25 long x 4 deep. It can be hung or free-standing. Flaws: side of rack has 2 splits which you can fill w/wood putty and repaint if you want or leave as is. The drawer that was replaced is a bit loose, other drawer is tight and the drawer pull is glued in so don't pull on it. Overall, it looks good and displays well despite the aging flaws. You can stencil it, re-paint it, shabby chic it, add other items besides spice jars, e.g. shakers, toothpicks, etc. It is very solid and sturdy.
