Art Print African Tribal Chef Vintage Framed Signed; this wonderful drawing of an African Tribe Leader traveled to Africa often and he and his wife would bring back such wonderful pieces. This is the same “art dealer” that I purchased the wine cork screw from handmade, the pottery, both the box and the cup and saucer all handmade by local Africans. This wonderful vintage drawing is of an African Tribal Leader, what region I do not know, This picture framed measures as follows; overall 17 ¾ long by 15 3/8 inches wide and the depth of the frame is ¾ of an inch. The print itself, measures 12 5/8 inches long and the width is 10 ¼ inches.

I love the fact that this drawing is done in black and white with no color added. The features of this man holding his pipe have such depth and character. The lines in his face, the motion in his eyes and best of all his representation of peace his hands are extended out reaching. Though I must confess I do not know much about African history, this picture of the Tribal Leader moral fiber is so instilled in this drawing by the artist C. Marsden Fruggins. The nature of this drawing is one that you could look at in length and study the spirit of this man.
As an interior designer I again love using the unexpected, I once had clients that loved antique furniture and art. Prior to beginning the design of the house the husband fell in love with a drawing of a large leopard. Not knowing how I would place this in the home he insisted that it be used and wanted to place it over the mantel of their fireplace. Wanting so to please the clients, we ended up collecting many different pieces of art from Africa, and English antiques, the home took on an English feeling at the turn of the century where men of society traveled the world including Africa being part of safari as part of their formal education called the “Grand Tour.
