Description:
Vintage photograph, mounted on heavy stock, of two black Spaniels. The dogs are on the porch of a house. There is an rug and fancy chair on the porch, and there is a stuffed bear standing behind the chair. Beautiful dogs. Back of card has handwritten "Brave and Topsey send greetings to the friends of their race - Dogs of Mrs. Sarah B. Cone from which were sent puppies to the Old Stone House." I believe this is a reference to The Old Stone House which is located in Brooklyn, New York. This house is a modern reconstruction of the Vechte-Cortelyou House, a 1699 Dutch stone farmhouse with important ties to American history. Card and photo with some foxing, otherwise Very Good to Very Good Plus.
