Description:
This beautiful ormolu gold filigree mirrored vanity tray was made in the Rococo style by Matson. It measures 17-1/2" long by 10-1/2" wide. There is a pressed pattern around the inside edge and sides of the tray. On each end are 6" sprays of dogwood blossoms with a dove in the center. Along each side are three smaller sprays of two dogwood blossom petals centered with stamen and a leaf on each side. The bottom of the tray is covered in pale burguncy felt. This tray has a wonderful patina with a pale green hue in some places. There is one small mark underneath the mirror on one side, and there are a few light scratches on the glass. These can be expected with a piece of this age. The Matson cartouche can be found on the bottom side of each end. This tray would look lovely under your collection of perfume bottles, or if you prefer, there is a loop on the bottom of one end which lets you hang it up on the wall.
