Description:
For sale is a vintage oak tool box. A great manly gift! Good looking, solid oak tool box. Handmade; c:late 19th, early 20thC. The interior corners are called either tongue and groove or mortice & tenant, but can't recall the specific name for it, (see pic. 3). Good display condition; some aging flaws: has one tight, long split in backside panel, and is missing the top part of the metal latch on the right side latch. It has a thick leather strap handle. Cool primitive, country item. You can use this for other things besides tools too; and it makes a nice accessory furniture piece, as well as storage case for kitchen collectibles, tools, etc. Put a big red bow on it, stuff it with antique tools, and make your man one happy camper! (I saw an almost identical one with the leather strap handle, but much smaller, with a $695 price tag on it at the Bloomfield Hill Antiques Show recently!) Shipping to continental USA destinations only on this item due to the size! Thanks for visiting More Than McCoy.
