Description:
Absolutely Fabulous, and a rare find amongst the souvenir tablecloths!
This small tablecloth depicts the marvelous mountains, heritage and culture of the Canadian Rockies along The Great Divide.
This cloth dates to the 1970's, as it shows a renamed Mt. Pleasant (renamed Mt. Eisenhower in the early 1970's). Unlike most of the later souvenir cloths, however, this one has no map!
The main highlights are British Columbia's magnificent mountains and lakes - Three Sisters, Mt. Assiniboine, Mt. Burgess, Mt. Sir Donald, Mt. Eisenhower, Emerald Lake, and Lake Louise.
It features Chateau Lake Louise, the fabulous hotel that began in 1890 and has housed the rich and famous from Lionel Barrymore to Christopher Reeve.
The corners are even more fabulous, showing an Indian Chief, a boy in a canoe, Canadian Mountie, and a quite impressive passenger train, with moose, elk, bear and a ram in black.
All set against a pristine white background, scattered with gold and green Canadian maple leaves, a "Great Divide" entrance gate in the center, and all outlined in deep bright red.
NOTE: I took the photos while the cloth was hanging on the line outside, so there is sunlight coming through the cloth. It is NOT fading or weak spots in the fabric or dyes, simply sunlight filtering through the fabric.
The fabric is quite soft to the touch, and feels like a rayon & cotton blend.
Measures 32 x 34 inches, with no stains, holes, frays or fading. There is slight discoloration from storage along the very edges of the cloth. No tags or labels, but it Appears Unused, and is in Mint Condition!
Glory & Grace is a Proud Member of the Vintage Tablecloths Lovers Club!
Although most our vintage linens are gently washed and line dried, this is an exception due to its New Old Stock condition. It has, however, been hung on the clothesline for several hours to soak up our marvelous Ozark Mountain lake air, then wrapped in acid free tissue and stored in our handmade cedar chest awaiting its new home.
*~* All Glory & Grace vintage linens are gently hand-washed and line dried in the sunshine and fresh mountain lake air here in the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas! Occasional pieces (new old stock; new-never used) will be left as is. I seldom iron these vintage pieces, as any possible mineral deposits can leave stains after extended storage. After cleaning, all linens are stored in a hand crafted cedar chest, then wrapped in acid-free tissue prior to bubble wrapping for mailing.*~*
