Description: For sale is a vintage Japanese tea biscuit jar. c:pre WW2. Marked in black inkstamp: Made in Japan. It stands 7 tall x 6 wide. The books on Japan items call it a biscuit barrel/jar; books on cookie jars, call it a cookie jar or cookie barrel. This ceramic jar retains its original fiber handle, and it has no chips or cracks. It does have some discoloration around exterior bottom, (mainly on the sides), and on interior bottom. This is common on these; I have never found one of these biscuit barrels without some discoloration.
