Description: This vintage souvenir horse brass measures 3.25 inches high by 3 inches wide and depicts a rearing bobbed tail horse. Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses. This horse brass was made about 1920-1940s. I thought the tail was broken off but it is listed in my Horse Brass reference guide. This brass has some casting impurities, but is a neat decorative piece. They are a popular collectible today. In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs and hanging by the fireplace in homes.
