Description:
Item/Description: Vintage "At the Feet of the Master" Kung-Fu Confucius-like Hindu-Buddhist Oriental-Asian religious figurines-statues pair set ***The larger composite materials figure has a very expressive face, with eyes that are uncannily realistic and seem to be looking right at you. Interestingly, the underside of this figure has a built-in hole (currently containing a "washer"), indicating this perhaps once sat atop a stick/pole of some type
***The smaller ceramic figure has very clean, modernistic lines and is very artistic and futuristic in appearance
Age/Period: Vintage - larger figurine appears to date ca pre-1950s; smaller figural ca pre-1970s
Manufacturer/Identification/Markings: Both figurals are unmarked
Material(s): Larger figure appears to be made of a ? composition wood resin; smaller figurine is made of ceramic bisque
Size/Measurements: Small figure - 4"H; Large figure - approximately 10"H
Quantity: Two (2)
Condition:
*Small figure is in excellent condition, evincing no noted nicks, chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
*Larger figure exhibits a repair to the item that he is holding on his lap (when viewing the front side of the statue, the repair is located at the far left - see photo close-up). On the same section of this item, there is a surface graze in the composite material. He also evinces a very slight, minimally noticeable nick in the edge of the raised decorative whiter spot on his left shoulder (it can be felt more readily than it can be seen, it is so nominally visible). Lastly, the top left tip of his hairdo as well as the very tip of his nose exhibit a tiny loss of the top layer of composite material, allowing the next layer beneath to nominally show through OLD (pre-09/27/10):
