Description: This is an unusual confetti pattern vintage English darning mushroom or sock darner. The darning mushroom measures 4.5 inches long by 3 in diameter and was made in England by an unknown maker in the 1930s. The sock darner is made in 2 pieces of a multi colored bakelite. The top screws off and originally held needles and a thimble. We have left the thimble inside that we found when we opened it up. Darning mushrooms are much harder to find than egg darners and are useful, collectible and a great decorative accent.
