Description: Very attractive vintage coiled fibre basket. Tightly woven/coiled basket with lid in nice condition. Stands 3.75 tall to lid, or 7 tall to handle, and is 3.75 wide. Dark patina on it, lid fits very snugly. Not sure if this is Native American or other indigenous group from another country, but it is a lovely old basket. Well worth this price if you collect vintage baskets. Baskets look great with Mission style furnishings too! A somewhat similar basket is shown on pg. 183 of Turngaugh's book on Indian Baskets; Yahi basket a band of the Yana, Great Basin area.
