Description: Vintage World War One Era Original Theatre Magazine ad for Babcocks Talc powder the perfume of personality. Featuring great combination of pen and ink graphic with inset photos, this unique ad is taken form a 1917 issue of Theatre Magazine the premiere publication for those who wised to be in the know regarding the fashions, follies and performers on the gay white way. Perky young starlet Anna Wheaton- then appearing in Oh Boy- reaches out a pyjama-covered- hand to pluck a bottle of Babcock's talc in her splendidly decorated boudoir- surrounded by inset images of lingerie and bathing-suit clad ladies applying the product- done in scents of heavenly violet, rose and corylopisi of Japan- their apparent exclusive that season. Ad is in excellent condition and measures 10 x 13. The bold graphic will be wonderful on display- and it will make a novel gift . Vintage Art Nouveau and Art Deco Ads featured in the exclusive Theatre Magazine were often unique to the actual publication and thus far more rare than ads seen in magazines such as Post, Life and Journal. This is a delightful image charming and bright in person! All items at A Fine Madness Collectibles are guaranteed original Vintage, Antique Ads, Prints, Artwork, Postcards, Hollywood and Paper Ephemera- never reproductions or copies.
