Description:
This tiki mug is different from most of the others of this kind
being offered, because it was made for Braniff Airline in the 70's and
used to serve drinks when they launched their direct flights from
Dallas to Hawaii. One side of the bottom rim has Braniff Int'l and
the other side has Tiki Leilani on the base. The tiki is your
typical brown scary looking guy. Although I have seen this type
of mug listed in the McCoy pottery book under the advertising
section the bottom is unmarked so I can't say for sure who
is the maker. The mug is in good shape with no damage. The inside
has a very tiny bump of extra clay that occurred in firing and
does not affect the piece. Tiki collectors will find lots of plain
Tiki Lehilani mugs but very few Braniff Int'l mugs. I seen these mugs listed for over $50 in similar online auctions. Braniff Airline
collectors will enjoy owning this mug also. Look at my inventory for
other Tiki items. This item will be shipped from Texas. It can be combined
with other items shipped from Texas to save on postage.
Beth will be your contact for this item. International buyers
