Description:
Overall measurements: 25" tall x 18" at the widest points x 6" total depth -- Clock diameter: 6"
An amazing piece of vintage folk art. The craftsmanship is spectacular with notched layers of cigar box wood totaling from 3 to 8 !! layers deep! AND the base of the clock holds a "hidden" drawer which is as wide and deep as the tramp art body of the clock (The drawer now holds the clock key for the Ingraham clock.) AND the key wind clock is in working condition.
The color is a deep, rich red/brown.
Because this clock tower was created by an individual and not a commercial piece, it is probably a one-of-a-kind although there may be others similar. Craftsmen "borrowed" design ideas then, just as they do today.
No damages and no repairs.
More detailed photos to follow shortly which will better show the sides (simple with one notched layer) and the back which is flat without tramp ornamentation.
A truly stand-out piece of tramp/folk art for any home or collection.
